And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:5-8 KJV)
// When you became born again through Jesus Christ, God calls you to a NEW life. He sees you as perfect and no longer holds your past against you. BUT, He also did not call you to just have a clean slate, He called you to add to your faith: goodness, add to that knowledge, add to that self-control, add to that perseverance, and to that godliness, and to that brotherly kindness, and to that.. love. The Bible says that if you possess these qualities in INCREASING measure, this will keep you from moving forward towards Gods calling for your life. God says if you do these things you will never fail, your life will be of value to Him and He will say well done my good and faithful servant, you have not only gained knowledge about me but you know me.
I pray that as a follower of Christ we would not only rest in our new life with Him but seek Gods calling for our life. to not only learn and gain knowledge about our faith but to truly know God and to practice Jesus’ life through our own. to specifically run after our calling and find it with certainty through knowing God.
