A heart for God ❤️

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:2-4 NIV)
David was a man with a heart after Gods heart. His heart was teachable; he was walking closely with God. He wanted to get all he could from Gods word and from his time with God. he submitted himself to Gods commands and remained teachable. you can demonstrate a teachable heart by reading Gods word everyday and being faithful in a church. David also had a holy heart; he asked God to lead him in paths of righteousness. God is pleased when we have holy hearts, void of sin or wickedness. this does not mean that we won’t sin but it does mean that we repent and seek restoration when we do sin. a holy heart doesn’t entertain sin but repents of it and seeks to always be right with God. another characteristic of a heart for God is confidence. David completely trusted in Gods protection, even in his worst trials. he didn’t fear the devils attacks, because he knew that God was on his side. this isn’t arrogance but a submissive spirit, leaning on Christ for strength. there are always temptations but just as david we can choose to live in confidence knowing God is protecting us. keep your heart right with God and rest in the knowledge of his protection, God is always in control!!
