Christians in the world 🌍

when it comes to beliefs and believing in Jesus there are essentials and non-essentials. believing Jesus is our savior and died for our sins, knowing the bible is the truth and God is the only way.. those are essentials. speaking in tongues, worship, the rapture, healing, pop music, tv shows and cultures are non-essentials. in non-essentials we should be able to have differences and still be friends and praise Jesus together. I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. (John 17:14-17 NIV) – missionary mentality is one that learns customers and routines to reach the people in that city. (Acts 17:28) tells of Paul’s relationship building and strategies for reaching people and meeting them in their own cultures to point them to Jesus. our popular movies and music give us an example of the brokenness of our people and help give us common ground to reach the people in our city. 1 Corinthians 9:20-22, paul became like them to reach them and point them towards God. Although we’re called to reach people, and the bible doesn’t ban popular music and R rated movies.. just because we can watch and listen, doesn’t mean we should. * be wise with what you allow in your life! don’t create rules that the bible didn’t create – don’t put your fences in someone else’s yard. Gods love doesn’t change based on what you do – what you do should change because of His love for you!!! Ephesians 5:15-16 apply wisdom – our lives as Christians should be different!
// have passion for Jesus – have a place to serve – have a place to bring friends who are hurting! everything else is non-essentials.
*thanks to Pastor Jeff @ lifepoint church for His amazing message. blessed to go to such an amazing church with the favor of God on us and through our Pastor!
