Joy in Christ πŸ™Œ

I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! (John 15:11 NLT)
John 15 tells of when Jesus and His disciples spent time in the garden of Gethsemane just before his crucifixion. some of the serious conversation they shared as they walked to the garden was recorded. He told them that He would go away and prepare a place for then, that the Holy Spirit would comfort them, they were to abide in Him, they would be purged by the Father and that if they loved Him, they would keep His commandments. these were serious key points for the disciples to remember and Jesus told them He would give them joy as they obeyed these commandments. He promised them that, as long as they remain steadfast in Him, His joy would remain in then. that promise was not only for the disciples – but for us as well!
Christ offers us joy and happiness, yet many times we let little things in life replace that joy in our lives. Gods joy is far greater than any temporary happiness or pleasure of this world! He offers this joy to us each day and we must not let other people or situations prevent us from having Christ’s joy in our lives! as Christians, we should be known as the most joyful people because of Gods love. we receive joy in the midst of our trails because of walking with God. spent time with Him daily and follow His path for your life. let your joy come not from the people or circumstances around you, but from serving our great God.
*I pray that I would always take time to be with God, that I would spend time in His word and in prayer. that I would seek the joy of The Lord today and everyday through faithfully living Gods will for my life.
