not to be served but to serve – 🌸

Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified. So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). There they crucified him, and with him two others—one on each side and Jesus in the middle. (John 19:16-18 NIV)
The creator of the universe, our infinite God died between to common criminals – two men who had sinned against Him. He was dying because of their din, for their eternity, in the midst of them.. what humility! God deserved so much more than that, He deserved all the glory, honor, and praise yet His life was one of humility. He came to earth not to be served but to
serve others He humbled himself and serves those who should have been serving Him! He did all the things that no one wanted to do and showed respect and love to all. If Christ was willing to do these things and humble Himself than how much more should we as Christians? The who created YOU and gave you breath and life died for YOU!! what a wonderful God we have – He have His life for the ones He created who betrayed Him and sinned against Him. not because you deserve it or because you had done something great for Him. No – your denial, rejection, and disobedience caused His pain!! Yet He humbled Himself and came.. When you get a glimpse of Christ’s humility you will see that there is nothing to small, and no person to “low class” for you to serve. When you humble yourself you will want to serve others.
Do you serve those who mock or ridicule you? – Those who don’t have as much as you? – Those who don’t believe? – Christ did.
* I pray that I would always look to Christ as an example of how to live and serve. That I would humble myself and look for others that I can serve. To always seek not to be served but to serve.
(I have learned so much from my UG family and from lifepoint church in general, they are such pacesetters and I have never seen a group of people more willing to serve. I am so grateful for them in my life – Thank you for not wanting to be served but serving others instead)
